Today, we are going to talk about migrating from BizTalk to Azure. Now, what’s the problem here? The problem is that many customers are still using BizTalk Server, and the latest version, BizTalk 2020, will go out of mainstream support in 2028. That might sound like a long way off, but if you have hundreds of applications to migrate, that isn’t long at all. Additionally, BizTalk isn’t really built for the cloud. So, if you’re looking to move everything to the cloud, there are numerous network issues you need to resolve before you can successfully run BizTalk there. There’s also a significant capital cost involved. If you have a lot of hardware on a replacement cycle, you need to consider whether you really want to spend all that money on hardware and licenses, or if you’d prefer to go cloud-based. Moreover, while BizTalk is being maintained, it is not being improved anymore. It’s a mature, sunset product. It will continue to work, but it isn’t evolving. So, what’s the solution? The natural migration point is to move to Azure because it is an evergreen cloud platform.

 

With Azure, issues related to licensing, versions, and end-of-mainstream support disappear. You only pay for what you use, allowing you to start small and scale up later. There is a concept of just-in-time infrastructure, meaning you only get the services you need when you need them. There’s no need to buy everything at once; you pay for what you use. The key advantage here is the elimination of capital costs; it’s purely consumption-based. So, how do you get started? The best approach is to bring us in for a migration assessment.
